Our Goals We promote clean, renewable and localized power in our community and community owned power and efficiency measures. We work with Northern Plains and partner with others working to change regulations and laws that inhibit our ability make a rapid transition to renewable energy.
Yellowstone Gateway Museum Goes Solar
In spring 2020 the panels went up on our museum. The energy cost savings will help the museum preserve our precious heritage!
Solar Powers our Wastewater Treatment Plant
In January 2020 our Wastewater Treatment Center started collecting energy from the sun! YBCC is proud to have played a role in this new array. The energy savings will in turn save our county residents money.
Senior Center Solar Up and Running!
We’re proud that our partnership with the Senior Center Senior Center resulted on a 50K solar array, a huge asset that will generate savings for the Center long into the future.
The YBCC - Senior Center partnership is a model for the kind of community collaboration we know is the best way forward. Thanks to new director Becky Bird, to former ED Nicole Divine, and the Senior Center Board for their commitment to this partnership.

Our Work Pays Off: Solar Panels on our Library
YBCC secured a NorthWestern Energy grant for solar panels on our Park County Public library, and the panels went up in late July 2016 (they can be glimpsed on the southwest corner of the building). The energy savings will benefit all library patrons while the real-time monitor inside provides education about solar benefits. YBCC partnered with Friends of the Library to host a celebration for the new panels in Sept. 2016.
